And away we go...

Big week this week, Civil War, Astonishing X-men and the like, but we want to point out a few titles that you should check into…

Bullet Points actually came out last week, but really deserves a good looking at. This is a five-issue JM Starczynski what-ifesque story that starts off with the creator of the Super-Soldier Serum being shot before making it to Steve Rogers. The ramnifications of his assassination echo throughout this version of the Marvel Universe. It’s tight storytelling with a punch and the artwork suits it perfectly. The artist has a way of translating a rainy day feel that the story conveys. Definitely worth a browse.

SUPERMAN is back! The last story arch in his main title kinda lost our attention, but the one that just started in issue 657 is full of promise and sets up what could be a truly epic tale for the DCU if they handle it right. It has it all, a horrific possible future timeline (ala’ Days of Future Past), an arrogant English mage who we haven’t seen in continuity in quite sometime, and Wonder Woman in an eye patch. This is the way this book should be, Epic. Big things for the first and (should be) the greatest Super-Hero of all time. This definitely is a step toward kicking us out of our post-Infinite Superboy-Prime wall punching depression!

Wisdom, Pete Wisdom. This is a MAX book meaning very mature content, and the first issue was a mature content blast. It was fun and creepy with a dash of horrorific thrown in because the holidays are coming, and hey, let’s do something special. This is reminiscent of the Garth Ennis books, but with a good deal of whimsy tossed in. Like Magic?  Like smarmy Brit womanizers who seem eternally drunk? Like disgruntled Heavily-armed Goth Fairies going by the name Tink? Then Wisdom is a no-brainer.

And there we go. Jason hopes that was as good for you as it was for him. He’ll call you sometime. Seriously, wait by the phone.
